Privacy Policy

1. Scope and Summary

This Privacy Policy explains how JPEG Converter: Image Converter ("Image Converter," "we," "our," or "us"), provided by Said Rehouni, handles information when you use the Image Converter iOS application (the "App").

The App is built around local image processing. Photos you select and the edits you apply—including format conversion, crop, rotation, flipping, resizing, light and color adjustments, compression, and supported background removal—are processed on your iPhone or iPad. We do not operate an image-conversion server, and the App does not upload your source or converted photos to us for processing.

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect limited app usage, device, and output measurements that help us understand feature adoption and improve reliability. These analytics events are designed not to include photo contents, filenames, file paths, free-form text, email addresses, or other user-provided content.

2. Photos and Edits Processed on Your Device

The App may process the following information locally:

• photos you explicitly select through Apple’s system photo picker
• temporary previews and editing settings used to show your changes
• converted image data created in JPEG, HEIC, PNG, or TIFF format
• temporary exported files created when you use the system share sheet

Temporary working data remains within the App’s memory or sandboxed temporary storage and may be removed when you start another task, leave the result flow, the system clears temporary files, or you uninstall the App. Images you save to Photos remain in your photo library until you delete them. Files you share or save elsewhere are controlled by the destination you choose.

3. Analytics Information Collected Automatically

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used. Firebase may automatically process app-instance identifiers, device and app information, general interaction data, and approximate location such as country or region derived from network signals.

App events may describe:

• which home shortcut or editing tool was used
• whether an edit such as crop, rotate, resize, adjustment, or background removal was applied
• the selected export format and compression mode
• numeric output details such as image count, output size, quality percentage, target size, rotation, crop percentages, and resized dimensions
• whether an exported image was saved or the share action was opened
• app and device information such as app version, operating system, device model, language, session activity, first opens, and app updates

Analytics events do not contain the pixels or visual contents of your photos. We do not intentionally log filenames, file paths, captions, free-form text, email addresses, or other content you provide.

Analytics data may be considered personal data under some privacy laws even though we do not use it to identify you directly by name.

4. Photo Library Access

Apple’s system photo picker lets you choose which photos to open in the App. The App receives only the items you select through that picker.

If you choose to save a converted image to Photos, the App requests add-only photo-library permission. This permission is used to add the exported image; it does not grant the App general access to browse your complete photo library.

You can review or change photo permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Saving, Sharing, and Third-Party Destinations

When you save an image, iOS adds it to the destination you selected. When you use the share sheet, the App creates a temporary exported file and hands it to Apple’s system sharing interface.

A service you select—such as email, messaging, cloud storage, or a social network—may receive and process the exported image under its own privacy policy. We do not control the destination you choose or how that provider handles the file.

6. How We Use Information

We use information described in this policy to:

• provide image editing, conversion, saving, and sharing features
• measure feature adoption and understand common workflows
• improve product design, performance, and reliability
• diagnose unsuccessful flows using content-free event data
• respond to support or privacy requests you send us

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your photo contents for advertising, model training, or profiling.

We do not use analytics data to track you across third-party apps or websites for targeted advertising.

7. Service Providers and Disclosure

We disclose information only in limited circumstances:

• to Google Firebase, which provides app analytics
• to Apple when you use system services such as Photos or the share sheet
• to a third-party destination when you explicitly choose to share or save an exported image there
• when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security

8. Data Retention

The App does not maintain a cloud library of your source or converted photos. Local and temporary image data is retained only as needed for the active workflow or by the destination where you choose to save it.

Analytics information is retained according to our Firebase and Google Analytics configuration and legitimate product-improvement needs. Retention periods can vary based on the settings applied to the analytics property.

If you contact us, we may retain your email address, message, and related correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

9. International Processing

Our service providers, including Google, may process analytics information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Service providers are responsible for applying safeguards required by applicable law.

10. Security

Local processing reduces the need to transmit image contents to a conversion server. We also use Apple’s sandboxing and system interfaces to limit access to selected photos and exported files. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection concerning personal data we handle.

Because image processing happens locally, you directly control much of the App’s data:

• choose which photos to provide through the system picker
• discard an editing session without exporting
• delete saved images from Photos or another chosen destination
• change add-only Photos permission in iOS Settings
• uninstall the App to remove its local data

The App currently does not provide a separate in-app switch to disable Firebase Analytics. For questions or requests related to analytics or support communications, contact us using the details below. We may need information from you to verify and respond to a request, and some analytics records may not be reasonably linkable to an individual request.

12. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request or another interaction, contact us so we can review it.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, service providers, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will publish the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date above.
